Hailey grew up on a farm in small town Burley, Idaho, and got her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While there, she joined the Pam Van Ry lab and worked on developing an organoid model for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and discovering the mechanism behind a novel protein therapy for limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2b. In the Haigis lab, she is assisting postdocs in their research of Ewing sarcoma and chronic kidney disease.

Hobbies: Japanese sword fighting (Toyama Ryu), dance, piano, singing, art, scuba diving, gaming, hiking, video editing, and many more (I like to say I collect hobbies!)
