Shakchhi wears many hats (and wears them well). As Mass Spectrometry Director, she oversees the daily operation and maintenance of the lab's three in-house mass spectrometers, supporting a wide range of metabolomics, lipidomics, and stable isotope tracing projects. From coordinating instrument schedules to training new users and troubleshooting complex runs, she ensures that each project runs with precision, generating reliable data that drive meaningful scientific and clinical insights.

I am responsible for purchasing supplies and negotiating with vendors on the pricing of laboratory equipment, performing inventory, handling invoices, and maintaining a weekly overview of lab expenses. My other responsibilities include serving as the lab’s safety representative, providing direct administrative support to the lab’s principal investigator, managing the administrative and human resources aspects of the lab, and assisting with coordinating events and lab outings.
