Zikoora grew up in rural Alabama, where observing disparities in healthcare access across different communities sparked a deep interest in health equity, advocacy, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, Zikoora is conducting research focused on how chronic and inflammatory conditions impact physical and systemic development to aid in precautionary treatment strategies. Outside the lab, Zikoora has served as a Senior Ambassador Alumnus for the Young Black Leadership Alliance and earned a Toastmasters certification to build strong cross-cultural communication skills. Zikoora is an aspiring Regenerative Plastic Surgeon interested in translational research at the intersection of tissue regeneration, inflammation, and health equity.
