Zhanel is an undergraduate third-year student at Dartmouth, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. Before the Haigis Lab, she worked as a research assistant at the Dartmouth Professor Lee's Lab helping with the development of more efficient human immunoprofiling methods. Later, Zhanel worked as a machine learning research assistant at Professor Preum's lab studying more efficient medical data annotation methods. She also works as an undergraduate intern at the Dartmouth Innovations Accelerator for Cancer research, assisting Dartmouth cancer-related startups in getting entrepreneurial knowledge and helping them prepare for the pitch competitions.

My hobbies: I love singing, playing ukulele, ice skating, and riding e-scooters. I'm an international student from Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country with nomadic heritage, so I also love horse riding as well as am a big meat eater!
